i bought a new comp and it says it vista conpatable and i was wondering does this mean it will update its self to vista when it comes out or whats the deal?

No, it won't update automatically, but you may be able to go to the manufacturer's website and order an upgrade CD if they offer one. Usually just costs shipping and handling.

This just means it is capable of running Vista, it will not upgrade itself.

However, if you want Vista and you bought the PC very recently, you may see if the PC manufacturer is offering an express upgrade to Vista when it comes out. Many are currently doing this.
