I need to get vaccinations for nursing school, but i have some questions first.... first, i had the 3 round vaccine of Hepatitis B in 1998, do i need to get another round now? or are those doses still good? Also...I know that i had chicken pox as a child but i need to show proof of immunity. Would it be better to just pay the 45 bucks and get the blood test (titer) done, rather than get the 2 round vaccine?? only serious answers please.

If the titer on the Hep B was positive, then you should be good with that. I had to have 2 more sets before mine took. I would go ahead and get the chicken pox vaccine instead of the blood test. It doesn't cost anything if you go to the county health dept. The vaccine will not hurt you that I know of. Good luck in nursing school.

There's no adverse effects in getting 2 rounds of vaccine.
I got the booster doses of hepatitis B vaccines for 2 times without checking the antibody titer. 'Caz the boster dose is cheaper than the antibody test.
But., in your case, u need evidence for the immunity, right ?
So, there's no way other than do the antibody test.
But,for my opinion, u should get a booster dose of hepatitis B vaccine, as 3 doses of vaccine can create antibody which last for about 5 years. So, after 5 year, u should get a booster dose or,your antibody level will low.

You will probably need to show immunity or proof that you had the round of shots. I'd get the varicella titer drawn, no need to get a vaccination to something you have immunity to.
