Please see a dermatologist. There are great treatments now. You want to avoid as much scarring as possible. Forget the lemon juice or OTC things.

You need aggressive treatment.

WOW...LEMON JUICE...I'M AFRAID IF YOU WANT TO GET RID OF ACNE..YOUR GOING TO HAVE TO GO TO THE DOCTOR OR DERMOTOLIGIST. AND THE BEST SOLUTION IS **ACUTANE**THAT IS THE MIRACLE..REALLY!! AND YOU MIGHT HAVE KELIODS TOO.. SO YAH..DO THAT..AND ALWAYS KEEP YOUR FACE CLEAN..DONT TOUCH YOUR FACE OR PICK..I KNOW THATS HARD BUT STILL... WHEN U WASH YOUR FACE USE WARM WATER FIRST AND WHEN RINSING THE SOAP OFF OF YOUR FACE MAKE SURE YOU USE COLD WATER LAST..COLD WATER MAKES YOUR PORES CLOSE. SO BEFORE U GO TO BED YOU USE WARM WATER WHICH OPENS UP YOUR PORES WHILE YOU WASH AND CLOSE THE POORS WITH COLD WATER ON YOUR FACE..IT'S NOT GOOD TO SLEEP WITH YOUR PORES OPEN..HOPE THIS HELPS ^_^.

Right now my skin is perfectly clear, for the first time in 3 years. It's been about 9 weeks and all my acne is gone. It is such a great feeling to wake up with clear skin.

Acutane work really good My hubby said he's not sure if you can still get it though it is a perscription though. He has Cystic acne and they are painful when they fester. I feel for him. The doctor told him cystic acne is hard to treat. Good Luck

No, I wish it was that simple. There are no over the counter products for cystic acne. I usually get cystic acne on my chin. Just one at a time but it hurts like crazy! Just smiling even hurts. I've tried proactive but it doesn't really work for that type of acne. Really the best thing is to just go to a dermatologist who can really do something about it. My doctor put me on the pill and I've gotten them alot less often now... depending on the severity of your cystic acne, Accutane may be an option. My sister-in-law used to have bad acne and after Accutane her face is clear... This is THE DRUG for acne, it's harsh but it works... And whatever you do, DO NOT try to pop them, they'll just double in size, hurt more and will leave a scar!

Good luck!

Nonpresciption cures aren't going to do this for you. I'd recommend going to a dermatologist that will be able to prescribe Accutane and look into that. It really helped me with my cystic acne. If it's as bad as you say it is, you may have to go through a couple of courses of treatment with it, but it should do the trick for you.

Have you used Acutane? It is a prescription pill that you take that totally shuts off all the oil secretion of your body.
You can use all the Benzoyle Peroxide and Retin-A (which is usually only prescribed in a low dose of .01%) and they will not work on actual cystic acne. What you have is referred to as nodular acne - and Acutane is about the only way to get rid of it.
After you have cleared up all the acne - you will probably be given a very strong version of Retin-A (something like 10%) which essentially is a chemical peel or dermoblasion - to help clear up any discoloration or scarring that may have occured.
I would ask you dermatologist about this, if you don't have one - get one.
I know all of this - because my 17 yr old son is going through it right now as we speak.
