I'm thinking of creating a match.com profile (meeting singles in my city sucks) but I'm so afraid that people I know might find my profile! Why am I so embarassed by that thought? How do I just not care?

People you know MIGHT find your profile. Notice it, remember you, think, wow....she likes THAT, too? Hmmm, she was a cutie.....that's how it works, sometimes. You can attract both old and new friends on online dating sites! Good luck!

Most likely, you will be recognized, because match.com is one of the more popular dating sites. People who are hooked up with someone else are so judge mental of single people, they don't realize how rough finding someone can be. You need to know this, people lie a lot on those on line dating sites. Most of the time those pictures are years ago or worse yet not even them. You are usually in for a lot of disappointment on those sites, I'd recommend trying to meet someone elsewhere than on those dating sites.

Personally I hate those sites, and I think it would be embarassing, however that is just my opinion, what do you find embarassing about it? If it helps use a nick name and don't post pic, reveal this information to people you click with only. Good Luck (though I think you should just meet people the normal way)

I've never thought about actually creating a profile on a dating website, but, like you, I do find the thought of a friend finding me a little embaressing. But when I further thought about it, I realised its not embaressing at all because no matter who sees my profile, they are on that dating website looking for people for the same reasons I am... so its perfectly normal.

If they find your profile it is because they to a looking for a match. Don't allow life to pass you by because of a needless worry. Go for it girl

dont let others confuse ur choices in life sumtimes going online can help you find guys or girls in my case that u wouldnt think to be friends for one reason or another finding out peoples personalitys without seeing looks means wayy more and is wayyy better
