They are almost 7 months old and they chew on everything. How can I get them to stop???

We give them dog bones and toys, but they still chew on everything.

They are looking for nurtitional value, vitamins and calorie intake. Thats why they spit stuff out because they deem it of no use. I read that in a book somewhere, maybe misqouted, but true!

Make sure they are satisfied with their diet, they could be lacking in some type of vitamins,or minerals. Also probally teething give them many puppy things to chew on not people things,Go to the Dollar Tree and get some very tough rubber and rope Toys and Tuff balls, maybe even hard balls, large enough that they won't choak.Hopefully they will grow out of it .Yelling or hitting will only make the problem worse. If the things mentioned above do not help talk to the trainers at Pets Mart/Petco and they can give you some great ideas, otherwise they might indanger themselves.

They are teething. They are in the process of getting their adult teeth. It is going to be hard to make them stop. When they bite you or you see them biting something they shouldn't tell them firmly (without yelling) "NO BITE". On inanimate objects you can put a product called Bitter Apple on them. It has a bitter nasty taste that puppies don't like and they won't bite. This is really all that you can do. It takes persistence and you have to be consistent with letting them know "NO BITE". I had the same problem with my now 4 month old Bichonpoo but broke her of this bad habit in a couple of weeks by constantly watching her and when I couldn't watch her keeping her in her pen. Now all she chews is her bones, her Kong and her toys.

Most likely your dogs a teething. Infants do the same thing when they are teething.

They are at a difficult age. If you can wait a while the chewing will eventually go away. If not then you will have to invest in some training with a remote shock collar that discourages bad behavior. Most pet stores and about any sporting goods store sells them.

They're teething just like people do. You just have to let them know they're not allowed to chew on everything and keep giving them a bone or something (like you have) for distraction. It's a natural thing and EVERY dog does it for a year or so.

Chewing is normal for any dog at any age. They need to chew. It helps keep teeth clean, relieves anxiety, relieves boredom. It's instinctive. If they were hunting game they would be chewing meat off the bones of their kill.

Because they are still puppies. I have a one year old and she still chews. We have tried everything. We try to keep things out of her reach at best. Funny thing is, she knows she is going to get scolded and all you have to do is look at her when she is chewing and she tucks her head and backs away. Best of luck to you, hope someone has an answer, I would like to see it myself.

That's what puppies do. Give them a chew toy.

Because their teeth are bugging them. Just a like a baby who is teething. Your puppies are teething as well and chewing feels good. They are also practising play.
