I say yes. My niece actually took sleeping pills because she could never fall asleep. She did NOTHING all day though. She'd lay on the couch or in bed and watch TV or talk on the phone. The family finally convinced her to get out and move around and she now sleeps just fine. Think about it, sleeping is the time when your body rests and recuperates. If you have nothing to rest or recuperate from, your body need to rest.

I have found that when I am in a regular exercise routine, I sleep a lot better. Due to my work, I am always mentally exhausted, but not physically exhausted. Making time for some physical activity certainly helps me to sleep and feel refreshed.

My experience is yes absolutely. Sitting around or just laying around is called being sedentary. It happens to many people especially in the winter months. I now exercise more and my sleeping pattern is good. More exercise gives even a better, deeper sleep and I feel better about myself too.
