Some say it's a mullet but when I search it up, a mullet looks uhm...a little different...
I'm thinking of cutting it like that, what can I tell the salonist so that he/she can cut it for me like that?

Take them a photo. I would say it is a shag if I had to name it. It is longer in the front than a mullet and longer over the ears, I would say.

I can see why people say it looks like a mullet... but just print off the picture and a hairstylist should be able to cut it like that...

To avoid leaving the salon with a mullet I would take these pictures with you or email them to your stylist. I'm sure they will know the style when they see it. It's very "scene"...but that has many different meanings too.

Good Luck! it's a cute style

First of all, instead of describing this hairstyle (which I like - it's cute and funky), why don't you print out the photo?

If you can't print, I would describe it as a shag mullet with side-swept bangs?

Looks like a 90 degree fingerworked cut w/ a long nape. Explain that you want the cut to be a little past your ear. Tell the stylist you want that and have him/her explain what they will be doing to get what you asked and if they describe what you want, then there ya go.

It is called a London shag. Most hairstylist will not know it by the name. It is a heavily textured shag done w/ a razor.

You really should take the picture into your stylist.

Good Luck,

What's wrong with a mullet?

Bring them the picture! It looks like a very layered long razor cut to me. You could tell them kind of like Elvira (mistress of the dark), because her hair is cut like that and most stylists would know who Elvira is.

I don't know what it is called, but is there any way you can print the page off and take it to the stylist, just so no mistakes are made?
