Good question.
You're absolutely right about this deep insecurity bit. I personally think we should learn to respect each other's differences in a civilised way without those unnecessary name-calling and insults and vulgarities.
We should NEVER ridicule and abuse something or someone that another regards as sacred, no matter how ridiculous or brainless it may appear to you.
Even the flea has a story to tell....
Yes, we should be more civilised. I like the way some Muslims answer my legit qns. No anger, no impatience or sacarsms.
I may not agree or convert to their faith, but the way we respond to proper questions is a reflection of our security in what we believe or don't believe.

I respect other's RIGHT to have their beliefs. I do not feel that I am in any way under obligation to respect the beliefs themselves.
They are ludicrous to me, and I respect my (and their) freedom of speech on the topic much more.
I try to speak my mind with as much gentleness as I can, and I admittedly fail at that just like everyone else from time to time. But if I have an answer to a question here or in a religious discussion, I will not beat around the bush or treat religion as if it has some sacred protection that other issues are not afforded.

I am a christian and I am going through something that is a great example. Right now some of my family is fighting over whether a certain religion is true or if it's a cult. I get so upset and I tell them this is nonscence. Basically 90% of all the war going on in the world if not all is because of something that is suppose to be sacred and now my own family who are christians (my father and mother is both ministers) may just break up over it. Don't say much now do it. So yeah, I agree. People dissrespect others all the time over something so precious but yet something so silly. I mean I tell people about my religion and I tell them that they are more then welcome to tell me about theirs. That's the way it should be. Not killing and hating each other for it!!

This is so true, we should respect each others beliefs even though we may disagree, there is no need to be hatefull on eaither side or to either side of the equation Truth is imitating Jesus ways anmd actions because he left us a model to follow in the way he treated peoplewith respect and love for each other, and as Christians and followers of Jesus Christ we need to display the kind of behaviour befitting Christians and not imitating people without faith with insults and demeaning others, rather let's behave in an caring and orderly way, and be peacable with all men/women.(Romans12:18)

I think that we should be able to discuss differences with respect. I am a christian, but I think if we respect others we can accomplish more that being nasty.
Some people of the same religion still have different belief about things. I am the time of person who wants to know why a person believe the way they do.

The truth is what you believe deep down in your heart and soul. That's all that matters.
No one, no matter how "nasty" or critical can make you change. It must be in our genes to disagree and have conflict.
As long as there are people who believe they are right about their beliefs and other who think they are wrong there will be ugliness, disrespect and conflicts.
It's never ending.

because of the fact some human beings ideals are in basic terms stupid, kidding (variety of). yet heavily, it is so tricky while human beings believe in issues that at the instant are not actual like "hell" and "the devil" its so demanding. I propose do human beings heavily think of a guy with horns and a tail who holds a trident particularly exists. Why could God create an enemy for herself? Why? i'm going to make it easier to recognize, he does not. and much greater demanding is that human beings communicate approximately those fairy memories (ie. the devil, hell) like there actual. and then there are those people who deny God's life, I propose God does exist. i understand this is not there fault in the event that they don't believe yet nonetheless it is so not undemanding to maintain quiet while it includes stuff like this. and of path all and sundry believes in something diverse and that all of them would desire to look after their ideals (like me i assume lol) and then particularly everyone finally ends up getting all temperamental and that they start attacking one yet another. and then there is those people who use faith to justify there very own prejudices, that particularly ANGERS ME. besides, that's what I would desire to assert. (perhaps i'm area of the project, i don't understand lol)

It has been that way almost since the beginning of time it seems. The best thing we can do is to pray without ceasing. We can not change others. Only God can. And if it is not His Will to change them, He will change our attitudes so that it will not bother us as much. Love and kindness is the only way. May God Bless

I think that when we feel misunderstood or unbelieved we may take offense or if we havent forced our beliefs on someone else and won them over, but is that really believing or is that a willingness to alienate someone else? it's better to let it go than to let it brew and fester.

That is true enough for me to believe it.
Very well stated. I agree we should all do our best at respecting others. When any of us use insults....then we define ourselves not the receiver of the insult.
