I won't even try to give you a reason to change your mind...
And, why would you say that you are sorry for drawing a conclusion based on a reasonable search for data from knowledgeable and reliable sources which led you to a logically concluded decision?
Gosh... your decision could even be considered a reasonable course of action taken out of self preservation, couldn't it?

Can you call Christianity a failed religion because of the Crusades, or Hitler (a devout Christian who even wrote his own version of the New Testament) or the KKK? No, you can't. you can't judge a large (hundreds of millions of people are Muslim) group based on some small extremist sects it might have. Muslim countries are actually a little further behind in toleration, but only because they are so devout and homogenous religiously(Think the U.S. would be as tolerant as it is if almost everyone was Catholic or any other one denomination). If you think Osama or one of his buddies might be coming for you, think first of the Timothy McVeigh's, the Ted Kazcynski's, and the John Wayne Gacy Jr.'s of the world. The only reason they aren't a threat, however, is because they aren't misfortunate enough to be sitting on billions of dollars of oil. Most Muslims are great, and for the one-tenth of one percent who are terrorists - you have a much greater chance of dying in a car crash than ever dying in a terrorist attack at their hands.

Well Koran and the bible can be used to justify violence. "an eye for an eye." It just a matter of what the people want it to mean. Islamic countrys have a poor record on human rights and religious freedom as well. Most muslims are not terrorists. However most do hate Israel. I dare you to find a muslim cleric in a Islamic country who will speak up for Israel. The muslims failure is in the fact they dont speak up and oppose there bad apples. Maybe its because they support them or maybe there afraid.

Although I'm critical of Islam, one should not generalize because of the extremists (it's tempting isn't it?). Countries like Morocco, Egypt, Turkey (in varying degree) allow others to practice their own religions. Others don't or make it very difficult.
That's the truth.
For Kostya: some Muslim countries are very intolerant, not because they are so devout and homogeneous religiously. It's because they are not democratic (mostly never have been) or don't have a constitution which by law give religious freedom to their people. Good example is Saudi Arabia.

Please don't change your mind. You are on the right track.
What matters are the facts, not words.
When the Danish cartoons portrayed Muslims in a negative way, they tried to deny the allegations by burning churches and killing a nun, just to prove they are not violent.
Death to non-believers is constantly preached in mosques. This was documented by Fox News, with many videotaped sermons.
We suffer in this country from a malignant disease called political correctness, allowing Muslims to infiltrate and preach against the USA.
They are allowed to burn our flag and call Death to America, while
an American in a Muslim country has no rights. The reasons they come here are only two: first, to plan something against the USA. Second, getting away from the miserable conditions they are trying to bring to us.
We need to wake up!

Well, interestingly enough, I see religious fundamentalism is pretty rampant in the good 'ol USA, and it's just as dangerous. I think the Islamic world sees the US as terrorists, and rightfully so.
Invading an Arab country, (or ANY country) , totally unprovoked, is an act of terrorism no matter how you stack it up.
Before the Iranian Revolution, religious tolerance was practiced there. I know Iranians from all denominations who fled after the revolution once the theocrats were in power.
Just something to think about......

oh, you must think about it more inside.
actually Islam is a peaceful religion.
but some Muslims whose actually had use the jihad concept in a wrong way.
as an example, you bought a new computer and you were been given a manual directory book.
it said to switch off the computer, you need to push the switch button.
however, the people who using the computer doesn't following the directory that's given.
he or she directly take off the plug and the effect is his or her computer had broken.
that's what happen to all the Muslims now.
some of them are so radical but some of them are really nice.
for the radicals, they had wrong-use the jihad.
Jihad has been classified either as al-jihād al-akbar (the greater jihad), the struggle against one's soul (nafs), or al-jihād al-asghar (the lesser jihad), the external, physical effort, but often it has been wrong-concept by others with wars.
that is the true concept about jihad in Islam.
i hope you are satisfied with this answer and you can change your mind concept about Islam.
thank you.

properly, I continually want to keep a netural view. there are countless examples or those who switched over TO Islam after 9/11. And there are countless that left it. yet for someone to attain a carry about holding with Jihadists is like accomplishing the top that Christianity is evil depending on the KKK. definite, certainly you spot pictures of radical Islamists on television burning the yankee flag. yet surely, the media is BIASED. and that i comprehend for a undeniable actuality that, that the position I stay, Muslims have held non violent protests and condemned the fundamentalism. yet did that get on television? Did that make important headlines? No, under no circumstances. Infact, no human being is conscious about it. that's why maximum human beings assumed that Muslims do not do something about it. also, i imagine each faith has had their shifty sessions. what's major to be conscious is that again interior the circumstances of the tremendous Islamic empires, Christians and Jews lived peacefully. more beneficial than ever in the previous. Up untill the crusades for sure. yet, i'll comprehend how preceptions substitute. Mine have, notwithstanding the want for me to stay impartial basically keeps bringing me again to be certain the best in certian issues. **there are countless good issues about this faith. It replaced into shaped to abolish slavery, to carry justice and equality to females. opposite to the image portrayed. And it really is a faith for anybody. no longer basically for the little ones of Israel, yet for mankind. **
