It makes PERFECT sense that mankind would create a religon that helps them cope with the death and violence around them. It makes even better sence how mankind would use their religon for finacial gain and social power. During the early years almost everyone was a peasants or slaves so, of course, they are going to incorporate that into their religon to make it seem like life is more than working for nothing, and dying. Anyone see where I am going with this?

Tim M is mistaken, the archeological record does not offer christianty and it's mythology any more support then any other religion.

Infact, it tends to contradict christianity in many instances.

well in christianity death and violence was not in the beginning. The reason for christianity is to bring those who believe back to the place that it was suppose to be. Which in the beginning we had a close releation with God, no sin, no death, no violence. Just the presence of God and the encompassing Love. Religion is defined as a system of beliefs that are done to get a individual to a higher place, but in christianity there is no works or deeds you can do to get in heaven. Jesus paid the price thats it!

Yes, I see where you are going. You are trying to point out that people will use religion as a means to get themselves to a better end.

Christianity is different because it teaches us NOT to put ourselves first, but to forget ourselves in the love and service of others. Christianity is also different because it was not created by "mankind" but by the very Son of God, who has the power, authority, intelligence, means and reasons to create a religion to benefit mankind.

It is different in that it was not created by humans, but by God. Jesus Christ demonstrated that He was God incarnate, by doing many things only God could do. And Jesus Christ founded a Church as the channel of salvation for all mankind. This Church is therefore divine in origin, a product of God Himself. That's about as different as you can get from the many previous manmade religions. Of course, men did later found many unauthorized churches under the name "Christian", but none of these churches are within God's plan, or within God's will, since He specifically stated that He intended all Christians to be ONE, even as He and His heavenly Father are ONE. This means absolutely no conflicting beliefs, absolute unity in faith and in worship. This unity can still be found today in the ONE Church Jesus, God, personally founded, but the exact opposite is found in manmade tradition - thousands of conflicting manmade denominations, unable to agree on what constitutes the truth.

Christianity has the unique position of being verifiable through archeology. None of the other world religions are so verifiable.
