My puppy as develop a cherry eye, Only one eye, and the gland is not always out. Will it get worse and always stay out, and will have to get her eye stitched?. I was wondering since it's not all the time if it can go away by itself? this evening I have notice some yellow puss comming out of her eye. Can that gland get infections? If it's infected could that be the reason it's out?

Did you get the dog from a reputable breeder? E-mail him/her and ask about this. A good breeder will know the answer to your question. : )

Treatment of cherry eye is very straightforward and consists of surgically repositioning the gland. Topical or injectable treatments of antibiotics and steroids are rarely effective in reducing the gland and allowing for correction without surgery. Because the exposed gland is at greater risk for further trauma or infection, prompt surgical replacement is the best choice.

Not likely but talk to a vet. Usually they will do both eyes at the same time as dogs that get this in one eye usually develop it in the other eye also.

Surgery is the answer. It is not a comfortable condition for the dog. Get it fixed. It is easy and I have never seen one have a bad outcome.
