It could be anything from an upset tummy to a tumor to the flu to just about anything. While we cant diagnose your pet for you, I can say that I hope she gets better! : )
Edit: I just re-read. She is vomiting something solid or semi-solid up? This needs to be addressed ASAP. Call your emergency vet and explain what is going on. If they think it's urgent, they will have you bring her in.

I have two Chihuahua's, Rufus is 5 and Mylie is 6 months. They both cough a lot. Its kind of sounds like a pig snorting. In fact, then they start doing it, we call them out little piggies. They however, have never coughed up anything that was whitish. Is there any way that they could have gotten into any kind of poison, like ant or rat? Other then that, I really dont know...I'm sorry...I would contact the Vet first thing in the morning, and if it gets worst through the night then I would call the vet in the night for an emergancy visit.
*Edit: Dogs do not cough up tape worms. They crawl out of the back side, so I really dont think that is what it is.

I have not a clue as to what she could be vomiting that would go back down unless it was a string or something of that nature. Dogs cannot vomit tapeworms but can vomit roundworm. If it is going back down and not coming up I'd say it is time to take her to the emergency clinic. String especially synthetic string is quite damaging to intestines and should be investigated by a vet asap.

Wow, that's a new one. How long has this been going on? My first thought was a tapeworm. He definitely needs to be seen by the vet.
Here's an article to see if this sounds familiar. http://www.petcaretips.net/tapeworms_in_dogs.html

Yikes, well, the only idea I have is to induce vomiting, and the easiest way to do that is to pour a teaspoon of salt into the dog's throat.
But, I am NOT a vet or trained in animal medicine so I don't know if it would be the best answer. I just think it might help to get the whitish material out of her stomach.

Sounds like a tapeworm? Maybe she ate it out of her own feces? (sorry that's gross but dogs have done stranger things).
Definately a vet trip is in order. I don't know that I'd wait until morning. Is there an emergency vet near you that you could consult?

Sounds suspiciously like a rawhide chew stick. They get soft & slimy & can be swallowed whole.
