Does your uvula have to be inflamed in order to effect your swallowing? Or just infected? Because I don't know what is going on with my throat, but when I swallow I feel something hard there and the uvula looks sore and slanted. But it doesn't look inflamed...

See an ENT Dr. He/She can examine your throat and if the problem is beyond the Uvula, he/she can look with a light. It could be irritated from post nasal drip from your sinuses, or there could be a hidden growth of some sort. Need to check it out. Good Luck

You might have a little node or nodule on the roof of your mouth back there that you can't see very well. Also, if you still have your tonsils, check the little crevices for tonsil stones. Sometimes you can feel then when you swallow. Just get a q-tip and dig it out.

If the feeling doesn't go away in a few days, go see a doctor to figure it out.

I've never heard of anyone having trouble with their uvula.

Uvula does not get infected unless you have an absess. its probably something in the back of your throat that is infected
