If she also has a fever go to the dr for a strep test. if she is a teenager she may have mono--those are the symptoms for mono also. either way see a dr asap. Until then lots of liquids, tylenol as needed, usual home methods to relieve the sore throat(such as warm salt water gargles--hard for kids to do but try--throat drops, any thing you usually use.) Avoid throat numbing sprays or lozenges--they supress the gag reflex in young kids and can cause problems. Good luck and hope she feels better soon.

She has the flu. To be sure take her to a doctor. Keep her hydrated give her plenty of fluids.
