He used to have coughs and colds two weeks before, but it was already treated with anti-biotics. Four days after his phlegm was gone, the fever came back, at random times of the day, but will ease-off after taking analgesic (syrup for fever). He was tested for CBC before, dengue it is not because his platelets is 12K+. I was just wondering what could be wrong with him.

A fever is a rise in body temperature above 100 degrees F (37.8 degrees C) when taken rectally. If you are not taking the childs temperture rectally, then orally of in the arm pit, the temperture ranges are:

Oral - 97-99 degrees F (36.1 - 37.1 C)
Axillary - 96-98 degrees F (35.6 - 36.6 C)

Accuracy of temperture may vary for many reasons other than body site, measuring technique, or presence of illness. Temperture of the surrounding air can cause some variation in body temperture.

Vigorous play or environmental heat may cause readings of up to 100.5 F (38.1 C). Body temperture tends to swing from one time of day to another. This change, caused by varying secretion of corisone by the adrenal glands, may cause lower reading in the mornings and higher readings later in the day.

If a child has been drinking cold liquids immediately before an oral temperture is taken, the reading will be artificially lowered. Additionally, you should also be sure the entire course of antibiotic were finished.

It not taken entirely, the infection may still exist. However, when other symptoms are present along with fever, or whenever a fever persisted for more than twenty-four hours, call the child's doctor to discuss the condition.

From the sound of things, this way, everything seem sto be within normal. Just try not to be overly-concerned and look over the child activities he had been participating in prior to your taking his temperture.

Hope this answers your question!

this is the bodies way of fighting off an infection..
I had one off and on for weeks, the doctor would give me meds, I would feel better, then two day after the meds are done it came back three times..I went to another doctor for a second opinion..they found out I had a problem with one of my teeth...
so you need to go see a doctor so you can find out what is causing this problem before it gets worse....and if the fever comes back after seeing the doctors give that doctor one more chance, and then see another one for a second opinion...
they say babies that get reoccurring ear infections can lose some of their hearing...so go see the doctor...please..
good luck

A fever is always a sign that the body is fighting an infection....get him to the doctor to be checked out.

He could still have a viral infection which would not respond to antibiotics....he could be getting his molars in....he could be one of those people whose normal temperature is a bit higher (sorry I am not familiar with using C). Temperatures will flux during the course of a day and a normal temp can be a bit higher or lower than the "normal" temp. your best bet is to check with your Doctor.
