My Dell computer is making a sound like an electric toothbrush when it boots and when it is processing. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Like the othe guy said, check the vents, but I think you have a fan going bad. There is a fan in the power supply, possible one in the back, and there should be one on a heat sink on the processor. You need to check and see. If one is bad it could cause problems.

You might have a cable that is loose and either vibrating with the fans or touching one of the fans. Take a look around when you open it up. I've had that before on a computer at work.

try cleaning the vent on the back of the CPU. it might be filled with dust causing the fan to make a loud noise because its working twice as hard.
