Most Christians I ask say if you want to know something, then look in the Bible. Even a revelation MUST line up with the Bible says or else its a false revelation.

But in Matthew 4 Satan used the scriptural writings to convince Jesus to cast himself from a pinnacle of the temple. How do we know Satan isn't a master at convincing us to err with scripture? Isn't prayer and personal revelation the only way out of this snare?

Many people have already told you this but I'll say it again. No, Satan did not convince Jesus to throw Himself from the pinnacle. Yes, Satan did try and he still continually tries to misuse or misquote the Bible to get believers and non-believers to do his bidding.

It is true that someone can read the Bible for revelation and get a false revelation out of it. If you're born-again, the chances are less likely that this will happen, but it still could. So my answer is prayer while reading the Bible for revelation is the best solution to a possible snare.

Remember, if you fall simply get back up and run to God. If you misunderstand something in the Bible, God will make sure you come to understand what He meant. Always remember that if you goofed up, and I know I have, God is still there with open arms and a forgiving heart.

You have your conceptions mixed up. Jesus defeated Satan with the Scriptures during the temptation in the dessert. Satan did not convince Jesus to worship him. Fighting Satan with the word of God along with pray is the only way to stay out of satan's snares.

Being an ex-Christian myself, I know this for a fact. Ready?

All bibles are different. My elementary school had at least six different versions. So saying that you need to look it up is unfounded and slightly stupid, in my opinion. Parts are missing or added, edited, you name it.

Since I'm not entirely religious that way, I can't entirely answer your question. However; since the bible was written by MEN (being a species reference) for other MEN (again, speciel), in a different time period entirely, I'm sure the method of evading the evil elements or presence or whathaveyou would change as well. Not only that, but I think the bible should be taken with a grain of salt; you never hear that Jesus was over their shoulders making sure they wrote what they were really supposed to write. It's your interpretation that matters; remember free will? :D

Only a true Christian can announce Jesus as his Savior. The devil has already been defeated. He knows he only has a short time to decieve the nations-satan is the ruler of this system of things. We can tell by the wisdom the Holy Spirit gives us that we read the truth. Denying God's truth and existence is of the devil. All will be judged and ALL will BOW Before the King.

the reason most christians tell you to look in the bible, is because that is there (absolute) which is the word of God,and if somebody gives you a revelation, and it don't match up with the bible, it wouldn't be a revelation from god, satan will try to missplace the scriptures to throw us off,, or will try to use the scriptures to make us go against the scriptures, you are right we need to pray for a personal revelation from God, (Not man) in order to have a personal relationship withhim, he reveals himself to us because he chose us before the foundation of the world, christian means someone that is christlike, would it be then satan in all other religion trying to tell us that the bible isn't true, it is written in saint matthew Ch 1 vs 23 behold A virgin shall be with child, And shall bring forth a son,And they shall call his name Emmanuel which being interpreted is God with us,,and in ch 4 vs 5 ,, it is written,,then the devil taketh him up into the holy city ,And setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him, if thou be the son of god ,cast thyself down, for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee, and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone, the lord interpets his word by bringing it to pass,, in the beginning he said let there be light ,, and there was light,, its quite simple,, he speeks it and it materializes, if we have his word in us, that is the only way out of this snare,, I challence anybody to try without God,, ( that is impossible,,)

NO!
Jesus was not decieved by Satan's misuse of Scripture, and neither will we be if we accord our lives with Scripture.
John 8:31-36
31 Jesus therefore was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, "If you abide in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; 32 and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." 33 They answered Him, "We are Abraham's offspring, and have never yet been enslaved to anyone; how is it that You say, 'You shall become free '?" 34 Jesus answered them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin. 35 "And the slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. 36 "If therefore the Son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.

SATAN IS A MASTER AT DECIEVING PEOPLE AS HE DID EVE

2Cor.4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

11:14; He transforms himself into an angel of light.

There is more to quoting truth as satan did to make it correct.
It has to agree with an inner witness, as well as outter circumstances.
Also, other more mature Believers can give a confirmation.
