The occipital lobe of the brain controls eyesight. It is located in the back of the brain. I would suspect two types of tumors:

Glioma- a tumor of the cells in the occipital lobe

Meningioma- a tumor of the meninges near the back of the brain; the meninges is the outer covering of the brain

Many other things could cause light sensitivity as well. Most neurological conditions (MS, epilepsy, headaches, etc). If light sensitivity is the only symptom, I would seek a doctor's advice before saying it is a cancer.

Also, some people have a natural light sensitivity. In these people the condition itself does no harm except for the fact that intense light is to be avoided.

Good luck!

I was diagnosed with breast cancer and received Chemo. The Chemo is what caused the sensitivity to light while I was doing it. Not the cancer.
