what is the difference between a felony 1 and a felony 5?

just for example purposes:

felony 1 = 50 yrs jail time
felony 5 = 10 yrs jail time.

felony 1 is 5 times worse than a felony 5.

There are felonies that are 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree. 1st is the worst degree of culpability and 3rd the least.
