I believe the natural universe is far more awe-inspiring than the "supernatural." I believe that prejudice and hatred can be destroyed through honest and careful thought. I believe the fact that I exist WITHOUT the fabled creation myth, makes me all the more special, and ties me into the continuing cycles of life and the universe. I also believe in patience and understanding, and in freedom of speech and religion.

I try not to say that, but I'll admit I have accidentally when I mean to say that I and probably others don't believe in not only God, but any gods at all. That said, I don't believe in "nothing". Don't believe in God or any other deity, but I don't believe in "nothing".
I believe in reincarnation, which I can because that's a principle, not a religion or a deity of any kind. It's just a belief about the "afterlife" I've held for a long time.
Love, logic, science, family, friendship, the Constitution and Bill of Rights, nature, separation of church and state, humanity, good will and compassion...
I'm realizing I can go on all day with this, so, heh, I'll leave it at that.

I believe that religion will continue to scar the human race for many years to come. The softy-xtians will perhaps wake up to their indoctrination at some stage in their lives but the nutty muslims are on a losing battle AND WILL KILL OFF MANY THOUSANDS OF THEIR OWN KIND AND FAR TOO MANY OF MY KIND over the next decade or two. How stupid can they get?
I believe that in MANY years time, the bulk of the human race will become better-educated and realise that they have been rather childish and silly in believing that there is a friend in the sky who made everything 6000 years ago, that the bible is the literal truth and that praying can cause miraceles. All hogwash.
Religion will eventually collapse under the pressure. Be a trend-setter ... ATHEISM - THE ONLY LOGICAL CHOICE.
There are many other things that I believe in but here is not the place. I've taken up far too much of your valuable time.

I think the the "belief in nothing" idea is what is improperly ascribed to athiest by theists who can't conceptualize an absence of God. It is specifically ascribing a belief in God, an object, with a belief in a negative-God as an object. But this logic is flawed because the set of things anyone does not believe in is infinite. There are innumberable things you don't beleive simply because you can't concieve of them, like flying jello elephants. We act and communicate about a world of things that we can concieve of because the existant world is finite. Otherwise we could not conceptualize anything because there would no longer be a reality reference frame. Because of this, we can only have faith in something existing. There is no such thing as believing something does not exist.
Consider this, there are ten people in a room. Nine of these people play a sport; one does not. Is the one person who does not play a sport play the non-sport? No, they simply do not play a sport. Consider five boxes, there are shoes in four of the boxes; the fifth one is empty. Does the fifth one contain "negative shoes"? No, it is simply empty. The box could contain an infinite set of "negative things." If you are not convinced make a list of everything you can think of that could fit in a shoebox including combinations of things, and put the word "negative" in front of each. Now instead of saying "the shoebox is empty" say the "the shoebox is filled with negative . . ."

In addition to what you've mentioned, I believe in the goodness of people, but also the bad side of people. I believe that there will always be someone who wants to control another. I also believe in meditation and the need to hold on to some sort of comfort.

Atheist is not the same as skeptic, but I believe people seem to confuse the two. I would say all atheists believe in what you mentioned.

Very good. That is hard to follow. I beleive int he same things,
I beleive in knowing your theories, and proving them as science has done over and over with evolution.
I beleive in family values, love, and creation of new ideas to improve humans such as stem cell research rather than hide with my head in the sand waiting for a mythical god to save me.
I beleive in humans. Their will and sense of good judgement, fair play and moral values to lead us into the space age .
I beleive education of the masses will remove religon eventually from our world and we will finely be free to seek and determin our own future which would be bleak and death if we continue living under religion's dark shadow of deceit.
Atheist understand life and truth better than religious people, and trust in humans to do the job myths can not do.
