I have a friend who is having complications and her grandmother had and died from cervial cancer. Could there be a connection?

There could be a connection as cancer sadly is a hereditary disease

And while I certainly would never wish for anyone to get answer and or die/ in arbygirls71 case I could be willing to make an exception

Yup. Genetics is definitely related to cancer risk. The current theory on why people get cancer is two-fold. The first half is genetic predisposition and the second is environmental factors. So, in short, yes.

It could be something that she inherited, however Cervical cancer is normally caused by HPV (human papaloma virus) it could be something compleelty unrelated but just to be certain she should have a Pap smear and see a gyno regularly.
