Don't take the aspirin. I'm sure it has an expiration date on it for a reason. When I don't have any painkillers I find the best thing to do for a headache is to lie down in total darkness and close your eyes. Being on the computer probably isn't helping! I hope you feel better and for god's sake get some ibuprofen for next time!!

As long as the aspirin doesn't smell like vinegar, it is probably safe. It will be weaker.
Compresses can be very effective, depending on the type of headache. Some headaches respond better to cold compresses across the back of the neck on across the eyes while lying down in a dark room.
Sometimes, exposure to computer monitors or television can trigger a headache. Even lighting has a flicker rate, that can make headaches worse, which is why people recommend lying down in a dark room.

Drink a couple cups of coffee or some other caffeinated beverage (or take a caffeine pill or two if you happen to have them). Excedrin Migraine and a few other medications contain caffeine which helps with headache and other pains.
My dad explained this to me once when I was traveling to Orlando for vacation and on the night I got there called him in tears with the worst headache of my life. He told me to go get some Excedrine Migraine and take 4 of them (more than the recommended dose so I can't recommend doing this) and chase it with at least one can of Mountain Dew. I felt SO good less than an hour later that I went out to dinner with my husband and had no problems for the rest of the night!
Afterwards, lie down in bed in a darkened room with as little noise as possible. If it doesn't hurt, drape a cloth over your eyes to darken the room further--sometimes I get headaches so bad that it hurts to even do this, though!

Hi, Yes, here are several accupuncture points that will stop pain. Tale off your shoes, and take the heel of your right foot and step on and apply pressure to the big toe of your left foot. When your toe starts to feel sore or no circulation, switch feet and do left heel on right big toe. Also take your thumb and forefinger of your right hand and pinch and apply pressure on the webbing between your thumb and forefinger of the left hand. After a while, switch. By now, your headache should be gone. Do not take the outdated aspirin, there could be some messed up chemical reaction. I hope the above helped you. Darryl S.

If you want to be happy don't do mistakes. You should never take any allopathic medicine after expiry.
There is no medicine in this world to treat headache. If it is acute check a painful point behind your thumb nail up to the joint. Press that point or ask your friend to do it as it is very painful. Your pain will disappear within few seconds.
If the pain is chronic it is migrain and acupuncture is the only treatment for it. Search a skilled acupuncturist or think coming to us.

That aspirin would have still been good if this were 2004. It is 06, so don't take the aspirin. what you want to do is get a cold washcloth, and place it on your forehead. This will constrict the blood vessels and stop the blood from rushing to your head. Blood rush also brings along prostaglandins that cause pain. Lay down, close your eyes and take a nap. Don't take the aspirin though.

I understand how you feel, i suffer from migranes and alot of times otc products don't help, i have to go to the er for shots, but sometimes if i lay in a dark room with a fan blowing on me and an ice pack on top of my head and moist heat on my neck it helps. If you can be lucky enough to get someone to rub your feet...(i know this sounds crazy) but there's a spot on your foot that goes to your head that relieves pressure, it really does help. Even drinking some coffee helps sometimes, the caffiene does something. Hope this helps! Sorry, try drinking lots of water, alot of times when we get headaches it means our bodies are dehydrated therefore we need water, i had a specialists tell me this.

Pinch and hold the fatty area between your thumb and first finger on one of your hands for about one minute and let go. This is a chi point used in acupressure to relieve headaches. Give it a try. I've told others about this and they think I'm crazy until they try it.... Good Luck!

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

The aspirin will be weaker, but take it anyway - won't harm you. If you have any menthol rubbing cream like Bengay or even Vick's Vapor Rub, apply some to your forhead and temples and nape. That should help. And take a cup of tea.
