No one asks what you believe when they offer you food. If you must try to convert them as they are helping you they you will find people don't not the Synagogue will not like that. As you would not want to be converted just to get food. Most people believe is you help someone and ask nothing for it you are doing God's work.

I lived off church charities for quite a while when I was little. Synogogues were nicest, because they never tried to convert me or my brother (we're Wiccan); neither did Assembly of God, Unitarians, or other non-denominational Christians. Everybody else tried to convert us. But that's okay, because I ended up going to Baptist church for "bible study" because we couldn't afford a babysitter, and then when they kicked me out, I went to CCD at the Catholic church down the block. Never did figure out what CCD stands for...
So. Yes, you can go for food. Charity is a virtue, remember, so feel free to encourage it in others!

Yes. I'm not Jewish but all theJewish people I know personally are generous and charitable. They would be glad to feed you. But why wouldn't you go to a Buddhist temple first?

Try canceling out some unneeded utility bills first. Like your Internet. Possibly selling your computer and get a job.

You should be able to go into any place that preaches love for each other, and get something to eat. If you can't, then the place preaching the concept is worthless and hypocritical.

Sure, just don't tell anyone. However, why not just go to the salvation army? They feed the homeless.
