Since religion and God are not real to you and it causes such burden on your hearts that you feel you must relieve the believers of their beliefs that you hang out in the religion forum I just started wondering if it bothers you as much about those who believe in Mythology? Do you also read those questions and post in that forum as well trying to sway them from their belief in Mythology?
I'm asking sincere questions here out of a desire to understand and know where you guys are coming from. I don't understand why you are attacking me.

I don't get why atheists come to the religion category either! What do they care if we believe? I think ppl who do not have the comfort of a religious life r envious of those who do. In their bitterness, they attack.

I consider all your religions to be mythology and have an interest in quite a few of them. There's all kinds of stories that are fascinating to me.
The negative religions that preach intolerance and hatred offend me, and sometimes I get snarky with the people that post that way.
But the reason I am here is to learn more about some of the other less popular religions. Also to get some insight into why people believe as they do. Plus! All sorts of resources and websites get mentioned. So it's a wealth of information.

Okay let me tell you straight about these atheist people. It's like this: Even if there were a God they would still deny it.
Also I can tell you they do go in the mythology section, cause it's not enough for them to deny the existence of God which doesn't exist, now they want to deny the existence of other things.
I recently read an answer from one denying the existence of elves and fairies. That ought to tell you something.

LOL...believe it or not I never try to persuade people who believe in God not to believe.
I accept who they and what they believe. My whole family believes in God....what kind of person would I be to try and sway them. I love and respect what they believe.
I think you have a wrong perception of atheists. The ones who attack you here are the exceptions not the rule.
Also I've never been in the Mythology and Folklore section...maybe I'll give that a try next.

Mythology is different from religion, in that the former people generally don't deem to be real, and the latter people still subscribe to. (I consider mythology to be religions that have largely fell by the wayside.)
I would think atheists would be indifferent to mythology, since most people don't take it to be real. (How many people are left that worship the Greek deities, for instance?)

No, I am not one of these persons that burden people with convincing people of their false beliefs, but there are some how just dont want to beleive and some that know it doesn't exist, these are the people not bothering you. People like myself tend to look beyond the obvious and think outside the box.

Mythology and folklore are hardly a threat to humanity sinice they are not also politically and socially motivated while the God-based popular religions are smack full of movements that cause unrest between races and nations.
I'm not to concerned by mythical stories of fascination that are recognized as just stories... belief systems, however, have deeply dangerous roots.
