Tell them you're not interested.
They will counter with: "Not interested in eternal life?"
Ask if THEY intend to be there, when they acknowledge their intent to do so slam the door in their face. What could be a greater deal killer then eternity with them?

Actually, there are very few Christian Churches that go door to door. You might be thinking of the Jehovah Witness. That is not part of the Christian religion. So make sure you really know who they are. Most Christian missions are in 3rd world countries, where they not only spread the good news of Christ, but they also help to the feed the hungry and education the children. You can believe what ever you wish. Just because someone talks to you doesn't have to change your own views. If someone comes to your door selling vacuums cleaners do you get this upset.? If you are not interested in the things of God then it shouldn't bother you.

Actually some Christians believe they must witness in every elevator, preach to any availble group and turn every routine encounter into an alter sevice. My suggestion is that it is better to share the gospel in natural and tactful manner. Why not "be prepared to give the answer" when the oppotunity is given. They should learn that they can not force you to believe anything by doing this to you.

Next time ask the person knocking at the door their denomination.
Not sure if you care but different denominations have distinctness that makes it wrong to clump all persons who say they are Christians into one group.
More likely than not Jehovah's Witnessess are knocking at your door. The books they use as references are not accepted by the Christian community.
Just pray for truth. Just don't close out the fact we might be on to something.

Question: Is it Christians bothering you at home or Jehovah's Witnesses? And why can't you just tell them they can't come in?
Not that hard, is it?
Or are you maybe afraid that they might be right and you will answer to God one day?
Just some thoughts.

I am a Christian and I think you should tell them off. Jesus does not need "Christian" to force him onto other people.

I don't think actual right-minded Christians do that. I think you are talking about Jehovah Witnesses and Mormons.
