According to the news, the alleged suspect and his friends were at a strip club that was about to be shut down because of the problems it caused. One of the suspects mentioned getting a gun. The suspects then struck an officer with their car and then rammed an undercover police vehicle.
Although the suspects did not know about the undercover operation, their actions were aggressive and violent. Striking the officer is aggravated assault, ramming a vehicle (if it was occupied) would also be either aggravated assault or reckless endangerment (both are felonies).
When the officer was struck with the vehicle, it became a deadly force issue. The officers are justified in responding with deadly force. Unlike the movies, people don't fall down or fly into the next room when they are shot. Often, people can absorb several rounds with no initial response. There were 4 men in the suspect vehicle. You shoot until you stop the threat.
If you don't like the way these officers do their job, get off your uninformed judgmental backside and become a cop --- show us how it is done. Or are you too scared ?

Killed - Yes. Murdered - unlikely. I guess we will have to wait and see what the investigation turns up.
BTW, why is everyone makng such a big deal over the fact that he was to get married the next day. Would people look at the situation different if he wasn't getting married? And do people really think the police knew he was getting married and for some reason targeted him for that.

Probably... none of the articles I have read said which race he was. But if Al Sharpton and the '100 Black Police of NY' (or whatever they are) are backing him up, then probably.
But if he wasn't hanging out at a strip club, this wouldn't have happened to him. Maybe it was good he was killed. What kind of father would he have been to his 2 children? What kind of a husband would he have been? A pretty lousy one, if he is cheating on his 'wife' with slu*s. Stay away from strippers. They can only get you in trouble - or killed.

Yes. He and his party got in an altercation outside a strip joint known to have problems at 4AM, got in their car, hit a cop, ran into a cop car, and were then fired on. It was a bachelor party and the man killed was the groom, due to be married later that day. Gee, what a wonderful way of saying how much he loves her.

No they did there job,no murder was committed. It you read all of the articles on the shooting you will understand. It only takes 10 seconds to unload a 15 round mag.

Didn't hear that one yet but if they did then the black man must have been doing something illegal and resisted and/or threatened the NYC police with harm. Y'know, like the 92-year-old black woman in Atlanta who shot three officers and was subsequently killed. That's how it works if the police officers want to stay alive to go home at the end of the shift.

If the cops were in an unmarked car and these guys rammed them and then the cops fired on them until at least one of them was dead, would it be okay for citizens to fire on a car that rammed them killing someone in the car even though they weren't firing back?
Do you think the citizen would go to prison for murder? Just wondering.

the story hasn't been fully uncovered yet...but, like others said, why was he at a strip club?? until 4 am at that, when he was 'going to married in a few hours' as the news says...something isn't right with that picture.

I understand that it was actually the day of his wedding. It was after midnight , in the early hours of Sat morning and the wedding was scheduled for later that day.
