In Early October 2006, a Car was purchased from dealership in New York. The dealership collected state taxes for new jersey, registration fee, license feet, etc and promised to deliver the plates within four - six weeks. It has been over 1.5 Month and every time the dealership is giving run around saying it will take another two days, etc, etc. Originally the car was financed using Auto Loan and three weeks later, paid off by using Balance Transfer. As of this moment, dont have Title or License Plates, what can be done?

Please advise.

My home state is NY and I bought a car in VA and waited almost 3 months for the permenant plates, I had to get Temperary plates issued 3 times. Just keep getting the Temp tags.

Show up and tell them you want the taxes, registration fee, and the PROCESSING fee back and tell them you will go stand in line and get your own tags since they see no reason to do the job they were PAID to do.

You could try driving to the dealership, walking inside and handing them the keys and asking for a refund. That might get them to move.

Of course, so would a quick call from your attorney.

Be patient....You're dealing with government workers in two separate states! It's a wonder that they even know what you're talking about.
