did you go on the freecycle website or craigs list? you can normally find free stuff people don't want that will decorate a college apartment.

the best is that you can post what you want and it is in your area.

good luck.

Ashleigh, drive behind the most expensive (furniture store)=only not a big box just a luxury furniture store outlet in your area and go behind it and you'll see a huge open dumpster they fill these things all day with wonderful pieces of furniture because when the little woman with all the money wants new stuff the furniture store usually takes the (new) old stuff and dumps it in the dumpster in back of the store, i was mowing with a big tractor for one of these store doing their out lots and watched brand new trucks slip in to the back and load up two three times a day with super stuff that ends up at the land fill so look Sharpe out there and see what I'm talking about, and they really don't care if you take it cause it just means more room in the dumpster for more, these guys were flipping stuff and making a fortune in garage sales with this stuff too

You do realize that we don't all live in your town, don't you?
I'd suggest that you check out a few thrift stores [maybe Salvation Army, Hospice, Goodwill, etc]. I've gotten a lot of great deals for like new or slightly used items. Saved me money, plus I was helping a good cause instead of someone out to make a big profit.
Yard sales and flea markets are also good to look for bargains.
Good luck ... I've been in your shoes before.
