1) Don't use pills--first step is to depend on yourself. If you take pills you have to take them for the rest of your life. Take it from someone who has tried--they are a quick fix until you stop taking them.
2) Don't diet, just eat in moderation. This is a lifetime change, not so quickly changed. Learn to enjoy what you eat to the point where you don't need to stuff yourself. Why eat a whole piece of cake when a bite will do just as well? Also, don't scold yourself if you cheat. Just get back on track again.
3) Exercise EACH day. You have control over this! Even if you don't want to, just pop in a DVD and exercise for 30 minutes. I run in place of 30 minutes if I don't want to go to the gym. Also, start small--if you can't run, then walk and build up.
4) Get a buddy to hold you accountable. Better yet, go to a class. Cycling, jazzercise, something. Find something that works for YOU. I LOVE water aerobics and had it had not been for a shoulder surgery I would have lost a lot of weight!
5) Go out and buy a swimming suit in a relative size--if you're around 210 try a swimming suit in a size 14. That's about 1-2 sizes, right? Go slow. You want to start small and work up.
6) About keeping track.
Daily: write down what you eat--you'll be able to see how much you eat each day. Don't worry or cut calories--it's just a reality wake up call.
Weekly: weigh yourself. Don't do it more than weekly though. The scale doesn't tell you everything you need to know.
Monthly: Measure yourself: arms, bust, waist, hips, thigh, knee, and calf--it will take you about 3+ weeks to see a change, but when you do you'll be able to see your progress. Amazing how that works.
7) Get help, if you need it to stay on track. Weight Watchers has a great monthly pass program where you can buy online and class access monthly ($15/month I think). Studies have proven that WW has the highest success rate.
8) Reward yourself, but not with food--you know those shoes you love? When you hit 170, you get to go out and buy them! Set goals that you can achieve, and enjoy doing it! For me it was getting a massage and taking the day off from my kid.
Good luck!!

Reduce the speed at which u consume food. Chew each morsel 32 times before taking the second morsel.
2. Eat balanced food. Avoid junk food.
3. Take light exercises, and not heavy workouts, regularly. This includes the brisk walks.
U will find noticeable change in ur weight and energy levels. Do not fix any dead lines. After all u have gained it over a few years why not allow to normalise in a few month or even a year.

If you are not in a hurry, you can begin by making small changes over time, such as drinking 8 glasses of water daily, eating 5 fruit a day, cutting out sugar and animal fats. Crash diets have been shown to be safe in the short term (no more than 2 weeks at a time) and can give you a boost of confidence now and then. Educate yourself on the various types of OTC diet pills. One or more may be helpful to you.

Eat right and exercise, cliche but true. Don't worry about fancy diets and stuff, just be aware of what you eat, try not to over eat, and avoid really fatty foods. Theres no rocket science to it as many of the "diets" would have you think, intelligence is all thats required. Other than eating right, get your heart rate up for a good 40 minutes a day.

Stay away from carbohydrates (breads, pastries, pastas) and fast food and try a balanced diet with more fruits, vegetables. An egg substitute can be good in the mornings. The South Beach diet is pretty good. Exercise 30 minutes each day aerobically. You sound motivated and ready to start tomorrow..... Good luck!!

First of all, you would have to change your diet. Try limiting your food intake & eat healthy. Tuna & chicken is always good for protein. Oh, & don't use any mayo for the tuna:P that diminishes the whole purpose....try using canola oil. Do some cardio.....hit the treadmill or go running at a local track.

My heart goes out to you for in similar position.
PRAY! about it!
Exercise even if simply walking at least 20 mins each day helps.
All about quality of a meal not quantity.
Drink lots of water.
Destress your life to hinder compulsive eating.
Do not starve yourself.
Take baby steps first - go for first five pounds and proceed from there!
Best wishes on your new look!!
