I had the exact same problem.... here are a few ideas....
Try using olive oil.... apply it to your hair when its clean and dry.... soak it.
Put a shower cap on and wrap a HOT towel (from the dryer) around your head turban style... leave that on for about an hour.
use a good quality shampoo, and wash it out, follow with conditioner.
Do this once a week, you should start to see a differance.
I use 2 differant products, i use Dumb Blond shampoo and conditioner (yes thats the name) its made by TIGI. you can get it at any beauty supply and many salons... and I use Joico's K-pac Deep Penitrating Reconstructor, twice a week.
Both are filled with protein, and are designed to repair damaged hair. I LOVE them, I have seen a HUGE differance in my hair since I started useing them.
For the frizz... Biosilk hair serum is AWESOME for after its dry.... when its wet, I use TIGI Bed Head's Control Freak... it helps to control the frizz and make your hair straight. also Matrix makes a spray, and i think it helps protect your hair from the heat too... its called something like straightening startch.... its in an orange bottle that looks like hairspray...I'm sorry I can't think of the name right now.
When you curl, or straighten..... It is SOOOO important to use a heat protection spray. Redken, Paul Mitchel, Joico, and just about every other professional line makes one, go to a beauty supply and choose the one you like.
these will keep your hair from getting more damaged by all the styling us girls do to our hair.
And last of all....... I know you don't want to cut your hair, but you will need to trim, every 12 weeks or so, to get rid of damage, and let the new growth come in.
I cut some higher layers, I was really nervous about it, but ended up LOVING my new style!
Hope this helps some!

You should stop straightening it, that is so damaging and bad for the hair. I would recommend some professional shampoos like the Redkin All Soft shampoo and conditioner. There are also a lot of anti-frizz products that make the hair shiny. One that I like is by Regis. And you should also get your hair trimmed on a regulat basis to help get the damage out and keep your hair in better shape as well

It's the top layer, must because of the sun too! You can use a sunscreen for hair during the day, some brands specialized in hair products have it. Also, you could add a deep treatment to your hair once a week and let it sit for a long time, say a few hours, it helps a lot in replenishing the damaged hair. Here are some of the good ones I think (with my reviews inside): http://beauty-tricks.com/index.php?option=com_facileforms&Itemid=&ff_name=ReviewList&ff_param_section=3&ff_param_cat=7&ff_param_limit=10&ff_param_order=SubmissionDateNew

ok try aveda sap mass shampoo and cond., aveda damage remedy shampoo and cond. and they both have additional conditioning treatments. and what a lot of people dont know is that you shouldnt put like any kinda serum or spray on hair and then right after put your iron on it. that causes a lot of damage. try aveda damage control. use it when you hair is wet. dry it then flat iron it. it can also be used as a detangler and it has un filters to protect your hair from the sun also.

my hair was the exact same as yours sounds. i also had to go and cut quite a bit of my hair off but at least it got rid of the most of the dead ends. my hair was to the point that every time i showered i lost handfuls of my hair. it was horrible. right now im using a shampoo and conditioner called infusium. it takes a lot of the frizziness away from my hair and leaves it really nice and soft. i also you a heat protecting spray and leave in conditioner. it really helps !:]

well, umm.... you should you Dandruff shampoo. it helped me with my drieness and makes hair alot softer. Maybe after you get outta the shower use Steightning After Wash. its what i use an its not as frizzy. Then after u use it, kinda twirl yer hair with your fingers and it will help keep out tangles and fizziness.
If this doesnt help, i would ask your Beauty Stylist that cuts your hair. but, this has worked for me-- maybe your family and parents have these problems too. That may be the cause...
