So glad to hear you've been saved! : )
All 3 of my tattoos have religious significance. I've always been interested in the idea of getting the Christianity fish symbol in between the thumb and forefinger, because that's where the Romans had them done in the years after Christ's death in order to identify themselves to one another discreetly through a handshake. Love that because it's a classic idea.
I'm a huge fan of text tattoos, and I love mine so I highly recommend that if you have a favorite line of scripture or a prayer you like, you find a unique way to display it. (I have an Irish blessing wrapped around my wrist.)
Or maybe you could go with an image like the hands of Adam and God reaching out to one another in Michaelangelo's Creation of Man (Sistine Chapel).
Or what about a compass symbol with God as your true north?
I design tattoos for people on a regular basis (I'm a studio art major and plan to become a tattoo artist when I graduate college), so if you need more ideas send me an email!
Happy Inking and God bless!

I got my first tattoo on my wrist, which is one of the more sensitive parts of the body for that sort of thing, and it does hurt quite a bit. If it's small it probably wouldn't take more than an hour or so. I'd give it a 6. A good way to make it hurt less is to talk to someone. I spent most of the time talking to the tattoo artist about traveling, and I didn't really notice the pain. If you focus on it, it will hurt like hell, though.

This website: http://www.religioustattoos.net/ has lots of pictures of religious tattoos... My fiancee's is on it (a purple cross with a snake around it). It's broken down into categories and you can just browse through the pictures. They're pictures of actual tattoos, not flash.

First of all, blesses for you have been saved, I was also saved about a year ago and it has made all the difference. Kudos!!! As with the tattoo, I thought they were bad b/c the Bible stated it somewhere in Old Testament. but if you are getting one, I recommend those simple "fish" designs which stand for "I love Jesus." If I were to get a tatt, I would either get that or a Bible scripture on my back or chest. Hope this helps, God bless.

An old artist friend of mine designed a cross for me that I am getting next week-- I LOVE it!
Its a real rugged cross with the word LOVE down the grain in the vertical bar. The ropes holding the horizontal bar both spell FAITH and LOVE in their grain.
I will add the birth flowers of family members whom I loved that have passed away with their initials in the flower really tiny.
Hope I described that well!
Blessings to you and I look forward to seeing you in the KIngdom someday!

I just recently got into tattoos and the first one I got was a cross that have grapevine leaves going around it on my leg. The second one I want to get is angel wings in flight on the back of my neck. I also love the rosary that nicole richie has around her ankle and the angel wings on her back pics at bottom of page on first link. The bottom link has lots of pics of religous tattoos.
