The spasmatic quality of sneezes comes from your lungs contracting suddenly so as to force air out very quickly and though it may feel like a squeeze in your chest, it doesn't affect your heart.

Yes. That's why people started saying "bless you" when people sneeze because they felt that you die a little each time you sneeze. Crazy.
