am i doing the right thing?

well friday night my friends and i decided to prank call my (well he's not my boyfriend yet, but he acts like he is)! and we told him it was some girl that knew who he was and that she liked him.. he told her to call him later. then he calls me and asks me if i know that girl, and i say no.. we called him yesterday again and he made it seem like he wanted to meet up with her. was this a dumb thing to do or is it a clue that he's willing to cheat on me... please help.
