Usually because they were never taught or exposed to religion They didn't get what they hoped and prayed for and felt God had let them down. They didn't realize sometime the answer is No that God has something better in store or That he allow men freedom of choice to come back to him Not by force.
Some times its hard for people to accept things just by faith and not being able to see them.
I believe in God because of what I felt and faith and what I have seen happen in my life. There is no proof God does not exist. The bible was written as a guide to help us written by many different inspired men over many different centuries

Because much of what happens in God's world is not acceptable to a human being. The pain and suffering of others is to grave. The illnesses of life are too painful. And the sorrows of life are to great to believe that God or anything would create such a place. But, when we get to this point, the existence of a God becomes irresistible.

It's my belief that people don't believe in God because there aren't enough real Christians out there doing their absolute best being "Christ-Like".. Just after Jesus left this earth and gave his spirit to the disciples the word of God spread like fire throughout the land.. The disciples were absolute true Christians, not like the wanna-be's we have now.. There has been so much corruption in the church and scandal that the true at hearts out there who want the truth can't seem to find it through today's professional church attendees.. If we were more like our Savior and less like the priests that crucified Jesus l believe we would see a great revival in our world.. Good Q, God bless you...

Because to believe in God means that you have to make changes. You have to stop sinning. You have to obey God's commandments. People don't realize that Jesus gives us all the power we need to do this. They are too comfortable living in their sins. It's like a bird in a cage with the door open. The bird likes being in the cage because it's always been there, the food is handed to it etc. Little does it realize that freedom is just outside that door. But also, as the bird, if a person were to step out of that door without Jesus, he would soon run into ruin. So the bird, having never learned to fend for itself would soon be dead. It all boils down to the fear of the unknown.

because there is no valid proof that he exists. Near death experiences can be explained with lack of oxygen to the brain creating hallucinations. The creation of the world - the big bang, human beings - evolution. There is nothing that cannot be explained by science or something else that has a little more ground to it. The idea of ' God' however, only raises questions, 'where did he come from?' 'who/what created him?' 'what is he?' what happens in the afterlife? do people just hang around in heaven/hell for eternity? what happens after eternity? everything has to end. what is the purpose of living/dying if all you do is go onto another life after this, what is the point in any of it if the world benefits in no way?

People don't believe in God because they don't want to be ultimately accountable to anyone but themselves.

Cause even if there were a God, some people still would not believe. That's the way atheists are, they like to deny everything and they can't even let Christians have their own views.
Even if there were a heaven, there would still be atheists trying to deny it. What can you do.

the book is poorly written, plot hole, repetition, dull stories, lack of wisdom and ideas. exclude other nations world wide and purposes they are irrelevant. that is why it is offensive. the history of violence that surrounds it. the demand to have followers in submission. the stigma to not question.
you may be offended, but those are the impressions that we get.
that may not be your intent, but that is how it is received. you can always rewrite it, it has been done many times before. more so when they put the bible together.
