I am 40 and have been single for 9 months now and feel that I would like to start dating. It's difficult to meet single people in the pub etc so was wondering about on-line or speed dating.
Anyone got any experiences good or bad!

Yes, I have used the on-line dating site, christian cafe.com. I had both good and bad experiences with it. In fact, I married and divorced someone on line and then went back on line and met the girl/woman of my dreams.
Here are a few things to try to remeber. While there are no perfect people,the christian sites seemed to bring the better results as integrity goes. Assuming that you are a christian or at least believe in God that would be a good start. The second thing to consider is to try and date someone who is close to you. I would say within a 3 hour drive. This is becasue the more time you spend with them the more you know them. On the other hand, the distance may allow for the break you need so that your heart will grow fonder and so that you can determine whether or not you really care. Additionally, if it does not work out the distance will allow for a smoother and usually less painful breakup.
Finally, only entertain those prospects that you may seriously be interested inand dismiss any notion of any person who doesn't have any appeal to you.

im 45 and have been widowed for 17 months..i have tried a few sites and have started a great relationship with someone from a dating site. i started it as a way of communicating with other males but if this works out........i will be really happy

yea i was on one last night for two hours talking to a beautyfull african princess all ready to go dateing then i noatised shey had her web cam running so i took a peek
and beautyfull african was s safari candidate
and the facial hair was more a
prince/micle jackson
with a waste line john candy wood envy
a but in fairness shey was a great ride

On line dating is good as stated in one of my earlier answers as it enambles you to meet, speak and say things to people that you wouldn't meet or say in any other scenario.
