I see noone has actually answered your question so far.
Ok, I am a Christian, but I do struggle with the whole 'no sex before marriage thing'.
Infact I cant actually find that written in black and white in the Bible. It is implied. But Rahab the prostitute was Jesus' great great great (x 100) grandmother on Josephs side. And then Jesus stood up for a woman caught in adultery.
The reason I have trouble with this tenet, is that EVERY woman I know who was a virgin-bride has major sexual issues. ie. doesnt like it!!!
I have daughters, and I struggle as to what to teach them. I know what my church expects me to teach them - purity. BUT if purity has a horrid sex-life as a side-effect, Im not so sure.
I suspect that the church puts undue emphasis on this issue - sex.
How about you? What do you think?

My differences with the faith (United Methodist) I'm affiliated with are things of "religion". I personally don't believe in infant baptism, but they do. I think all the tradition about "Advent Candles" and such are man-made and of no consequence. Regarding gay marriage, my denomination has been considering accepting it at the last two annual conferences. If they do, I'm gone.

Generally ones belief will certainly be influenced by their religion especially when you re young. But when you grow older and be someone who likes to sees the happenings around the world, the cause of it and considering the results of the happenings, then I' am sure we will tend to have difference towards our belief especially towards our religion. Especially when considering for the whole large occupants of the world. I hope you will agree with this too.

I belong to an organized religion, but that doesn't mean I've closed my mind, and forgot how to think for myself. The major tenets of my religion I believe wholeheartedly, but lets face it. Most scriptures were written milenia ago. Our knowledge of the universe has grown substantially since then. Also lets face facts. Even the most pious of church leaders are still human. They have prejudices, and biases that even with direct contact with Deity, and direct instruction, can still get some things wrong. I believe in my church, and my God, but I believe I am still free to think for myself.

If one does not live what he believes, he really doesn't believe. All my personal beliefs are based on my faith. That's why we have faith. It is our "road map" of life.
