I use Ad-Aware SE (Free). I'm not sure whether or not to trust it. Is it legit? Will it add spyware? I've always heard to never trust free software.

It's been legit for me... i've used it without any issue. And the company I work for recommends it for home use.

It is a legit free adware remover.

Sometimes it is true if it is to good to be true then it probally is.

The free version of adware SE does not provide real time protection that is there paying version. You have to scan the computer manually every week and manually update the definitions yourself.

If you do have questions about a scanner feel free to ask anywhere Usually if you just google the scanner you can tell if it legit or not by the first few pages. If it says removal of.. then you have a good hint it might be bad.

You can trust it. Also there are other free trust worthy programs, Spybot, and Microsoft's Windows Defender. I use to use all three to catch what the other programs had missed. Best of luck

nicely, i don't propose to offend everyone, yet this pretty lots sounds like a self-advert junk mail, question sounds like a PR and the 1st answer is somewhat a junk mail ;) yet i'm going to take it undemanding unfastened: SpyBot S&D Paid: BitDefender internet protection (Firewall, Antivirus, Antispam, Antispyware) Or if in basic terms antispyware: CounterSpy, SpySweeper, abode windows Defender in this order

Yes.. you shouldn't trust it
It adds a spyware call NETSCVS.EXE
It opens a backdoor from your computer

Why don't you just buy one?
They don'y cost the earth

I use one called Noadware.net
They are good and I don't have any problems with it

And the good news - it removes NETSCVS.EXE

Here is their site

Best of luck

I was told by my ISP to go to www.safety.live.com and use that free service. It is suppose to remove HIDDEN spyware that ad-adaware doesn't remove.
