1. God-as-assitant theory says that God helped the human aurthors of the bible not to fall into any error, but they were allowed to right what it was saying in their own words. It was inspired by the holy spirit
2. God may try to make itself known to them, so that they wont feel alone. People think just because they can't see god, that it isn't real. They pray and ask for things like more money, a bigger house etc, and they get angry when they don't get it. God knows those things aren't important.

The people are dishonest yes, but the Bible was written by men that God ask to write it, so for that reason, these men, not saints, but were guided by the Lord to write this.
On question 2 a lot of people do want to prove their is not God and there you answer your own question, who in reality wants to say that there is a God and that you will pay for all the harm you have cause on others. The people that do not believe on God or want to disprove him, are afraid of what will happen to them is there is a God. So for that they live their lives saying there is no God, and of course they start believing it, and that way they can feel better of what they do. But I will say one thing about the people that don"t believe in God, everything they do will be paid right here in this Earth, so they don't have to believe, but I ask them not to cry and say why me, when something happens to them and they cannot explain why, they need to look back and see how they have lived their life. Maybe they will understand that this are the consequences of not believing in God.

Many people believe that the Bible was written by men, but was inspired by God. So, for these people, the Bible is holy and perfect.
For #2, I do not know of anyone who is desperate to prove there is no God. In fact, athiests do not find it their duty at all to prove to you that God exists or does not exists. The burden of proof is on the BELIEVER. These are the people "desperate" to discredit scientific evidence about the origins of life in the universe. And, by the way, if there *is* a God it doesn't necessarily mean that it is the God of Moses represented in the Torah, Bible, and Koran.

question 1....The Bible was inspired by God and it takes Faith to live by it.
question 2 ....Possibly so they won't be held accountable for their actions, and then again, some just don't care. Some aren't called at this time to obey, and worldly issues pull them away from God. Some have been so terribly dissapointed by the world's religions, that they no longer want anything to do with it. This seems understandable to me, from the point of so many false religions, but not understandable if the person would then seek real spirituality, a relationship with God, a personal one, apart from any church.

1) I think it is just faith. I can't think of a reason that would explain it better.
2)Some people want to disprove god because, they might believe that they have discovered a truth and want to share that truth. Another reason is that many people blame religion for many of the evils in the world today, so if religion was disposed of the amount of evil and intolerance would go down.
Maybe your last one is true. I haven't seen enough data on atheists to make an assumption here, but I would guess based on my personal experience I would say no. I do not believe in god but my actions have consequences. I'm accountable to society, my friends and my family. I also have a strong desire the be the best person I can be, Moral, strong and loving.
Let me put this way. I do not belief in god, therefore there is no afterlife. I'm writing this to you a unique person. No one will ever be like you again and your uniqueness means that I have to respect you because no one will see your like again.

People are not inherently dishonest has to be the premise by which we read and interpit the Bible. Religions are based on Faith. Faith in God, ourselves and our fellow man.
I agree with the idea that a great porttion of the people who wish to disprove the existance God do not want to be held accountable for thier deeds come Judgement Day.

1) I have faith that it is the Word of God. Think of all the books in history that have left us. Why would God save a Bible that he didn't want us to use?
2) People know there is a God. Some people just can't get over themselves.

Then u are calling God a liar. Cuz He is the one that inspired the writing to the people that He chose. Look at how God spoke to Moses what to write on the tablets for the Ten Commandments. And so, God spoke throught thsoe people. Do u think all the book authors would be able to remeber everything that happened? No! God did that. He inspired it. He spoke it to them. Why is it so hard for ppl to understand??
And people are so caught up on proving that there is no God, becuase they want to live their lives free and think that they are here for no reason adn that they have no will and cuz htey just don't want to follow God's principles just cuz they may be a little too hard.

Because not everyone is dishonest. Dishonest people tend to paint themselves in a good light and blame others for their mistakes. From all the evidence, the Bible seems to have been written by honest people.

1) 2 Timothy 3:16,17 - All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2) Most people are going to be passionate about what they believe in. Whether it is the truth or not.
