Yes it is ok to get highlights while you let your hair grow. If you wear a part in your hair try to stay away from it as much as possible, that way it will show less roots as it gets longer. Yes you can only color the roots of your highlights, it just takes a lot of time. You can use permanent or semi permanent color depending on your natural hair color.( semi permanent usually is only 5 vol dev. so it does not have any lifting power) Remember 10 vol developer will lift 1 shade, 20 vol developer will lift 2 shades, 30 vol 3 shades, 40 vol 4 shades, if you want more than that you will have to use bleach. All chemical products will dry your hair a little bit, but if you take care of it you will not have any problems. Condition once a week with a GOOD conditioner and use GOOD shampoo.( I recommend Salon products they contain less wax and alcohol.) If you just want them on top try the halo affect. Just remember always start small , the larger the sections, the more you will see roots as it grows out. Hope this helps.

Yes it is ok to highlight if you r letting your hair grow. Do a crown affect or a hallow affect. I believe you will enjoy the results and enjoy the color of your hair while it is growing out. Have fun and explore with your hair, just make sure that you use a good conditioner.

Yes mam,it is.
Try the new semi-perminate out called
Natural Match. It has a lil mirror at the top.
Hold a lil bit of your hair over it and see
if the box color matches your hair's normal
color exactly. If it does, take it to your local
salon and have them color it. Make sure
they do a strand test 1st. Just to see if
you get the right shade in the right time.
Then have them do low lights, which r so
in right now! Ask them to chose the most
natural to the color you have now and then,
when they're done, you'll be off! (:D)

What u should do is if you want highlights, get them but since you can't touch up highlights when your hair grows, you should dye your hair back to the closest color to your natural hair and then you can re-highlight them.

Absolutely, you can colour your hair if you are growing it. Highlights or foils would be great also. I think it would help grow your hair out because you would enjoy it more.

As long as you keep up with the matintence you should be fine. I've only colored my hair twice and it stayed in because i kept up with the color. And use tresseme colorthrive shampoo.. it keeps the color in 8 times longer!

If you are trying to get your ahir to grow you shouldn't use a permenant color use rinse because permanet color causes breakage if you dont stay on top of it!!

Yes, coloring your hair won't make your hair stop growing.
