I removed and reloaded Firefox as it wasn't loading when selected. I pressed CRTL-ALT-DEL and selected processes and it was running but nothing showed on my screen. I also run AVR Anti-Virus and ZoneAlarm. Is this anything to do with Explorer as it runs fine.

Well i have heard of MS being dirty and the rumors of IE 7 or w/e disabling firefox but i have both and do not have a problem.
The only things i can think of are:

1. ALT-TAB, yes it changes your window, but sometimes fire fox will be running for me but the bar wont show up on the task bar, dont know why at all, but it almost always comes back up with ALT-TAB.

2.Do the CTRL ALT DEL and end the firefox process, sometimes FF will freze, you wont see the window at all, not in ALT TAB, and you cant run another FF window until you close your other one.

3. As a last resort im not saying you should try this. Uninstall IE and re download the FF setup, install it, and run it and see in it was IE. (i wouldnt do this, do it at ur own risk even if IE is free.)

Go back to your processes window. Click on the firefox process and select "end process" Once removed from the processes list it should start up just fine.

it does that some times especially with Firefox 2.0. Just close the program in the process manager and try to re-open it it usually works for me

I can give you a link that deals with hard drive problems.
Some RAM/hard drive problems can be easily fixed yourself by using easily available tools. I found the info at http://fixit.in useful. Try this site, if you can get what is required.

Did you restart your computer? If not, do that and if it does not work, remove it and download it again. Make you you download the version that works on your computer.
