I prefer Frontline Plus applied correctly to the cat. It is long acting and if the cat is allowed full access to the house, it will act as a general insecticide wherever the cat goes.

However, it sounds like you have a particularly bad infestation. I've noticed from an ad in the coupon circular, that Raid makes a spray for fleas (it has a purple cap) and that would be much more convenient to use than a fogger. Foggers require that you leave your home for a period of hours. This stuff can just be sprayed.

Don't forget to vacuum thoroughly, using slow strokes (fleas can actually hang on to the carpet fibers) back and forth and side to side, and dispose of the bag or contents of the receptacle immediately...take it out of the house.

The Frontline Plus package insert will tell you how long it will take to rid the house of what remains. Just let your cat do its usual thing. Putting Frontline Plus on the cat and then putting the cat outside, won't solve your problem.

From a fleas point of view, the place it wants to be is on your pet. Start first by getting a flea treatment from your vet (the ones in the stores may work for some people, but I have never had luck with them). Frontline or Advantage are good brands to use, and they are both safe for kittens. As far as the house goes, the use of bombs can be more damaging than helpful. Vacuum Vacuum Vacuum. Then throw the bag away, and vacuum again. Since the cat is the lowest lying warm body in the house (unless you have other pets, which should be treated for fleas as well), they will be most attracted to her. If there's no place else to go, there's no place else to breed. After a short period of time, they should dwindle down. And keep babies off the floor, fleas love babies (which can cause serious allergic reactions). Also, if you live in an area that's near a riverbed or beach (or other areas prone to fleas) you may want to treat the outside of your house with some type of pest control...but be careful around areas that children play in.

Fleas are a strange bunch. You will have to go to a store and buy some spray that is designed to kill fleas. You will have to do this every week for a while.

There will be eggs in the carpet and they will continue to hatch out. Keep after them. Vacuum a lot to.

Flea eggs will remain unhatched while the "people" are on vacation, then when they feel the vibrations of people walking when they, and their pets, return, they will hatch out like crazy. This leads people to believe their house was over run while they were gone. I don't like fleas!!! Good luck. Pops

Use those orange cans of Raid that you can set off. We use those and they work great. Everyone including the kitten has to be out of the house while the cans are working. Be sure to follow the directions. Then get Frontline or something for kittens from your vet. Fleas cause worm problems and that is even more gross.

A friend of mine has a pest control business and he used Duraspan (I think that's how to spell it, not sure). It got rid of all of them but he had to redo it every two weeks for six weeks. Good Luck!
