Is rape about power/control, or is it about sex?

Rape is all about power, and male dominance. I couldn't even answer that other rape question... it sickens me to think that in this day and age, anyone thinks women "ask for it" by dressing sexy. We dress that way because of men - a woman can't get the time of day from a man without having huge boobs and a short skirt anymore, it seems. My man fell in love with me for my mind. (Even though I do have bodacious boobs too, LMAO!!)

I am a nursing home nurse, and I think what the ladies really enjoy are large print magazine subscriptions, warm socks, family collage photos, slip on clothing (buttons and snaps can be difficult for the elderly), nice smelling shampoos and bath soaps ( the nursing homes only supply the cheap soap smelling stuff) and most importantly is routine visits or phone calls. You wouldnt believe the depression rates in nursing homes. Those little old people get so lonely. I would not give anything of too much value such as expensive perfumes or jewlery as unfortunately those things tend to come up missing. Non skid soled shoes are another great idea. Also, if you are planning to send any form of food item, you might check with the nurses to make sure she isnt on a therapeutic diet. You wouldnt want to give her anything that could make her sick. Hope this helps.

In the great words of George Carlin.

Men think women should go to jail for being cockteasers with these phrases like "She had on a short skirt, she was asking for it."

But as far as elderly or incapacitated.... I just have to ask... WHY? Is the person's love-life so down right $hitty that they can't find a woman their own age or something? These people who rape those that can't stop the attacker are so weak minded and out of touch with society that they have pick on someone who just simply can't help themselves? They can't simply go out and pick up a cute a little college girl for a one-nighter and be happy? Apparently not, instead of going to a local night club to pick up a decent girl to bed down with for the night, these people are going to retirement and assisted living homes and taking out their sexual frustrations upon the weak and elderly... damn thats just sick.

Rape is about power and control.
Blaming the victim is almost as horrible as the rape itself.

I can't believe how many people on here seriously think that the men can't help it and are apparently blameless, and the woman is the one who brings it on her self. That's beyond ignorance. These people need a reality check.

I think rape is about the need to dominate weaker beings. I mean if it was only about the sex, there are plenty of prostitutes turning their ticks so why prey on innocent women? The sex only comes in because its the one thing that makes women more vulnerable then men.

It is about power/control, not sex. The fact that it's a "sex crime" stigmatizes the victims and keeps many of them from coming forward. It has nothing to do with sex. It has to do with control. Even when it is driven by lust or sexual attraction, rape is entirely about the attacker's ability to assert their will over their victim's will and force them to do something they otherwise wouldn't.

Blessed be!

Rape is about power and control, sex is just the tool used to wield it. No woman asks to be raped no matter what she wears, what her age is or what her social status is.

Seriously? Uhhh no I don't think they were asking for it. It's called being taken advatage of. Rape it about power control and sex gives it that extra egde and degrading spin. Violence is a favorite of those seeking control and power. However false it is and it is.

Rape is always about control, never about sex. No woman EVER asks for it, regardless of age.
Sick question.
