I ve been suffering from insomnia for quite some time on and off but since may its been worse and since september i have not had more than three nights of sleep on its own. I have to take pills or i just spend nights awake. I tried all kinds of stuff and spent so much money. Of course i m not working now since i lost the last job due to lack of sleep. I watch tv and movies and anything makes me cry. Im afraid to try another anti depressant. I tried two already and i had to stop. Do they really help? Im at my wits end and i want to go back to work and live a regular life.

G'day. A lot of people will probably pooh-pooh this idea, but I'm just telling you what worked for me. I was suffering post-natal depression a couple of years ago, and insomnia was one of the worst symptoms. I started seeing a naturopath. They can give you very powerful herbal tinctures, and probably some vitamins/minerals you'll most likely be lacking by now to help solve your problem.
Also, if there's some underlying mental issue (which right now you may or may not be aware of), you should probably see a therapist at some stage. My naturopath was an excellent counsellor as well, so helped me with a ton of stuff!
Good luck to you,
Donna :)

After taking various anti-depressants over the last 10 years, I have to say that anti-depressants didn't work for my insomnia, or had unbearable side effects. What really works for my insomnia is marijuana. Yep. Only way I can get a good sleep. Use an indica, as they are more sedating, and because sativas can make anxiety worse, if that's a problem for you.

When I first went on the Pill, the same thing happened. They can now often put you on a low-dosage version of the hormones in the Pill which may help. I am now on the Ring and do not experience any of those symptoms that I did previously. However, it could be that you are depressed and it is unaffected by your birth control. What did your psychologist say? My gynecologist, when this first happened to me, put me on a low dose of Prozac which can help counteract some of the mood swings. But first of all, make sure that this is related to your birth control. The worst thing that could happen is that you could brush it off as being a hormonal thing caused by your birth control, and it actually is a form of depression.

Keep searching for medication with your doctor that works properly for you. I'm sure that there is a medicine that will work well for you. Keep working with your doctors so that you can control that insomnia. You need your rest.

There's obviously something that is hurting you in your life. It would be wise to stay away from the sad movies, and to surround yourself with positive uplifting movies, people, and elevate your thoughts. Don't try to hold on to the sadness and depression. The joy of the Lord is your strength. Don't try to sit alone and think on sad thoughts. You need to occupy your time doing things that you enjoy.

In the midnight hour turn your television to TRINITY BROADCASTING NETWORK, OR THE WORD NETWORK, OR THE INSPIRATION NETWORK. These networks have Christian ministry 24 hours a day. I'm sure you will hear uplifting and inspirational remarks that will elevate your mood, and lift that heaviness off of you. Try JESUS, I know he can help you. He helped me, and continues to help me through each and every day. Peace be upon you in Jesus name.

There are two antidepression that I know of that have the least side effects one is lexapro the other is celexa. I am on celexa myself and I had no side effects, although it takes either medication for 3 months to work. I take klonipin to sleep i need it for the anxiety before i got to sleep and that seems to be when my brain is more active.

I have dyslexia and adhd. you might have adhd or be border line.

I would suggest taking up meditition. yes, it does work. I do it everyday to help me focus, reiki massage or massage therapy and or accupuncture.. These methods to work.

you will get back to your life It just finding the correct medicine that works for yourself

Wow, that is a lot of information without telling us anything about yourself. Give us your vitals, age, sex, weight, any chronic illness or pain, recent changes in your life on or before September, mental health condition, etc. For us to help with a question like this, we need to know.
