John Chapter 3 talks about being born again and how the wind blows, how even though you can not see it, it is still there.

I trust you believe the civil war happened right? Well everything we read about the war is the same parrallel as the Bible, we must believe in other people to tell us the stories.

BIG DIFFERENCE THOUGH: God breathed the words of the bible Himself. He used different men to make it all happen. As a person accepts Christ as the Bible says to then you KNOW the God exists. He begins to live in you. That is when you start to get "defensive"

After all if some one starts to bash the person that just saved your life from a life of damnasion wouldn't you get defensive.

You have right to be curios. I don't know anybody who has seen God. So, your question isn't unfair. I myself have faith, and have seen God work in my life. I have seen God answer my prayers over and over again. Some I am still waiting on. He has done miracles in my life, or at least I think they are miracles. No, there have have not been any burning bushes or anything like that. I think people get so defensive because they don't understand that everybody does not has the same faith as they do. This upsets me because I believe that God still wants us to love everybody regardless of what they believe. Jesus loves you.

Just because you cant see something does not mean that it isn't there. You cant see the air that you breathe or the wind but you know that is there. You haven't see God but you should know that he is there. Who do you think wakes you up every morning and don't say an alarm clock or a relative because you could go def in your sleep and not hear a thing or go numb and not feel a thing. He gave you the strength to sit at this computer and type the question that you wrote. That's how I know hes there and bless me and others everyday I don't have to see him to know and believe that.

We have not seen God because as John said: "God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." John 4:24

And the author of Hebrews wrote: "And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him." Hebrews 11:6

I don't know about "defensive," but Christians are told to be ready to "make a defense."
1 Peter 3:15 "but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence; 16 and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame."
The Greek word for make a defense is apologia, where we get two words: defense and apology. Frieberg Lexicon defines it like this: "defense; as a legal technical term, a speech in defense of oneself reply, verbal defense (2Ti 4:16); as a religious technical term defense of the gospel message from false teaching (Phi 1:7).

If you have been offended by defensive Christians, let me be the first to apologize and make a sincere attempt to answer your honest questions.

None can see God, He is so magnificent the mere sight of Him would kill you. However in answer to the question, people get very passionate about things they believe in.
God to me is as He states in the bible, the Word the Truth and the Light.
I take my guidance from the bible and although am not a bible basher-God botherer I love God and try to live my life through Him.
Noone is perfect and everyone gets it wrong.
Ignore idiot answers, it's not worth losing the 5 points to vent about.

Noone should be defensive to the question who is God?! It's just a question out of curiosity of what people believe to be God. I believe in God and Jesus Christ who is God who came in the flesh, but I don't critisize anyone for asking just cause I believe. fathersloveletter.com

Some people need to believe in a "super being", they need to have a reason for being here and they need to have a reason to die. They believe in God but because they cannot see him, they need to take him on faith. Faith is a wonderful thing to have. They become defensive of him when they cannot prove his existence, and they feel slightly gullible that they have taken God in faith alone. On the face of it, this appears an odd thing to do, especially for an intelligent person, so they become for a moment, uncertain and annoyed that they cannot prove Gods` existence. Once their backs are up the defence mechanism cuts in and they feel they must defend their faith, when they really do not need to at all. Their faith keeps God alive for them, and that is all that matters.

God is based on Faith- you have it or you don't. Ignorant people get upset and try to defend something they will never fully understand.

Religion ruins people - tears them apart - takes a son from a mother, religion makes an effort to draw your thoughts towards a person "pope" "preacher" whom ever and leads you away from what is offered - free.

Just have faith there is a God and see how things go for ya...

Take all your hurt and pain, all you have suffered and turn it over. Try this- hey, this is way too much for me to deal with so I am passing it over to You to sort out, thanks I have faith You will care for me.

Have you seen air, radio waves, me etc.?

Now you have seen the results of these things (leaves moving, remote control cars moving, my writings).

Do you doubt that they (air, radio waves, me) exist?

Why do you think God does not exist when everything around you was made created directly or indirectly?

Now before you claim God did not make the universe, think of who did.

And no, it was not by chance. Even the "big Bang theory" requires the matter for the big bang to work.
