It is only a question of time. Do not go for breaking it if you have a couple of hours time. If it is a 3 digit-combination, then it means 999 chances. Start from 001 and systematically move to 999. It will open. Again, while I would not recommend breaking the lock and loosing a suitcase, on the otherhand if it is a low cost one, then you may very well save the time and .... Good luck.

If it's 3 digit, it actually wont take you that long. I did this on an old brief case once. Start at 000. Then 001. Then 002. Then 003. If you go methodically, you'll have it open within an hour or two. It HAS to be a number between 000 and 999.

Come on, what will you do if this is an emergency. Which it is, when you have lost the combo. So, break it open. Step out of your hotel and buy another lock that has a key and not a combo.
This is no brainer.
