help with photomosaics!!!?

Question

I'm doing this project for school, and I'm doing a photomosaic... but i have noooooo idea how to do photomosaics... what kind of softwares to use, etc.
Can anyone help me please??

A photo-mosaic is a series of small photos that create a large image when they are placed a certain way. You can find a few try-out versions at the links below.
