First off, you need to see a real Dr. on this. My guess would be that is a gangleon cyst. I have one on my wrist as well. The doc said I can have it drained but more than like it will re-fill. The other alternative was to have it removed/operated on but he said no guarantee on use of my wrist after. He also said in the old days they would just get a book and smash it back in lol...I keep thinking I'm gonna try that...mine don't bother me so, here it stays ....good luck....see a Doc! ;)

I've had the same sort of thing...but it was diagnosed as a ganglion. At times it would get tender. The doctor said removal isn't always a 100% cure. The size of it went back down after a while to where you can't see it without touching my wrist. A trip to the doctor will let you find out for sure.

I'm not an expert and I'd definitely tell your doctor about this, but this sounds like a ganglion cyst. (I think that's how you spell it.) I had one on my wrist and it got to be about the size of a ping pong ball. It's not cancerous, but it should get checked out. Normally, it's an outpatient surgical procedure to remove it, but mine got significantly smaller, so surgery wasn't necessary. Depending on the size and if you are experiencing any discomfort, you might not need to do anything at all. Still...tell your doctor.

A lump or bump on a finger, hand, or wrist may have many causes.
* A soft, rubbery bump on the front or back of your wrist may be a ganglion ( http://www.handuniversity.com/topics.asp?Topic_ID=37 ). A ganglion is not serious and can be left alone unless it is painful or interferes with normal activity.
* A hard bump on the palm of the hand may be caused by Dupuytren's disease.
* Bumps around the joints may be caused by osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis.
* A tender bump (nodule) on the palm may occur near a trigger finger or trigger thumb. The bump may appear to move when you bend or straighten your finger or thumb.
* Tumors, both non cancerous or cancerous, can develop on a finger, hand, or wrist (http://www.dynomed.com/encyclopedia/encyclopedia/hand_and_wrist/Tumors_of_the_Hand_and_Wrist.html).
* A lump or bump may develop after an injury.
Treatment depends on the cause of the lump or bump.

Its probably a harmless cyst. I had one before, went to the doctor, and she said that it was a cyst. It was completely gone within a week later.
