Ok, my best friend, we both liked the same guy, but she said for the sake of our friendship she'd try not to like him...

But when we hung out with him she was sitting on his lap practically making out with him right in front of me! She's a good friend but I wonder why she went back on her word, and if there's anything I can do about it.

i am wondering too why she do that
if she really care about u and she dont like him for ur sake then why she do that
may she wants u to be jelouse
or she may wants to send u a message by its meaning that she will never let him goes for u
u should ask her directly why she do that

Guys are NOT worth ruining friendships over!!! I can't stress that enough. She probably can't handle the idea of him possibly liking you over her so she's throwing herself at him so he doesn't have the opportunity to decide for himself. If she said she would back of then thats what she should've done. Let her know that you're not understanding her actions and that they're probably making you upset. If she explains why she's doing what she's doing then maybe you guys can mend the situation. If not then just keep this situation in the back of your mind, expect it for next time and work from there. Maybe she's not a person you want as a best friend, but that doesn't mean you guys can't still be friends. - Good Luck!

Well if the guy is into her and not you, then you cant really do anything. Maybe she really likes this guy and being the more sensible friend, maybe you should back off and let her see this guy...Maybe they both deserve each other and everything has a purpose...this could be an indication that she cant really be trusted and you should look for a new friend.

She's still attracted to him. Ask him who he likes and wants to go out with. The one he picks is the winner.
