Hey sweetie...we all grieve in our own way and our own timing. You are not a horrible person, it is very normal the way you feel. I Praying can give you and your family strength, it helps to get through these times, even if you do not believe in God but a higher power. Talking to whom ever is willing to listen helps with the grieving. You are entitled to feel whatever you are feeling and then know you will get past it. A simple I love you MOM when she comes back will be enough...and you will find that words will come that you didn't even think of. Bless you and your family.

just tell her that u are very sorry and u wish u could make it up to her. dont say anyhting to her though untill a little after she walks in the door. as soon as she gets home give a huge hug and then tell her. just let her know that u are always there for her no matter what happens. let her know u love her and u always will. and u are not a horrible person. u are an awsome person for realizing that u care. most people wouldnt have even noticed that they didnt care. ur a great person inside and out and u know it.

You're definitely not a horrible person. Sometimes numbness sets in after you learn of a loss. That is a very common reaction. People process grief differently, and sometimes you feel it more than at other times.
Say whatever seems right to your mom, but I think the most important things for her to know is how badly you feel for her and how much you love her. I'm very sorry for your loss.

You're not a horrible person. You do care and it just hit you that your grandfather is gone. When your mom comes home, give her a big hug and tell her you're sorry about Grandpa. You can cry together. It doesn't hurt to cry so don't feel bad about that. I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather, it's hard to let go, no matter how old they are.

I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your Father and Grandfather. I'm sure your uncle is feeling depressed and he may want to be alone. But try and get him to spend time with someone. If he won't come to your Mother's house, then see if he wants to spend time just with you and cut your visit short at your Mom's. If he won't do either, then try to spend time with him as soon as possible after Christmas. If he won't spend any time with you or your Mom at Christmas, I'd take him a gift or some food anyway and hand deliver it to him at his house. Even if you only stay 10 minutes, the gesture will be appreciated. I think it's very cool that you care. Good luck!

It is not about what you can say, but it is about what you can do to comfort your Mom. By telling her that you love her and that you will be there for her if she needs a shoulder to cry on. Just be there to support your mother any way that you can.Remember now is the time to heep on the love with your actions.

i went through the same thing wen my grandpa died two years ago. this feeling will pass. you might feel bad about not caring, but think about it: you could still not care now. dont be so hard on yourself. it just takes a while for it to sink in. took me a while. its a natural thing.

I'm not sure.. you were in shock i think. Just comfort your mother because now she doesn't have any parents...if i were you i wouldn't feel horrible because you hardly knew your grandfather. Just see things through her eyes.
