So yea.
There's this girl I like that goes to my high school. Just this year we informally met..and usually I don't talk to her much due to class schedules. Anywho, my friend knows her pretty good, and he's told her about me...her response was something around the line of "I want to fly solo". I immediately frowned when I heard this from him, yet I thought I might still have a chance.
I'm pretty shy, so a face-to-face conversation might kill me -- next best thing is phone. I have her # from a Drumline directory, so I could call her up anytime.
I don't have much to lose, just pride and confidence. I've been turned down before so I could take another one...but I don't want to keep losing.

You do not call a girl unless she somehow gave you her phone number. Taking the phone number from a directory is lame as hell. Good bye pride.

don't call her for a date first. stop her in the hallway and say hi, how was your day so far or something like that. then gradually talk a little more so your comfortable with her and shes comforable with you. then you can call her and ask her out and it wont be so akward on the first date =]

DON'T CALL HER!!!! think of things to say and talk to her tomarrow, because if you make it up on the spot things will go from bad to worse... if you LOVE her tell her why and how you truley feel about her...

i think that talking to her in person would be a better option. calling her up randomly may seem over eager or just weird and random to her. just start a casual conversaton with her when you see her places
